“The Middle Ground between Light & Shadow”

Are we made of the same stuff as stars? If we placed a mirror in a galaxy millions of light years away, and we had a telescope that allowed us to see that mirror, would we be able to see dinosaurs in the reflection? Does all time (past, present and future) exist simultaneously? Are there natural time travel portals all around us? Is the Universe a bubble? Did life arise on Mars first and are humans really Martians? Do we contain alien DNA?

“The Middle Ground Between Light and Shadow”, a reference to Rod Serling’s anthology series “The Twilight Zone”, explores ideas such as these. It invites the viewer to consider curiosities and possibilities of the imagination. Fictions that may one day become reality.

I’ve been working on this and just wrapped printing a series of 10 silver gelatin prints for the show. I wanted to create something new for this, something concept-based and something that reflects who I am and what I find interesting, which frequently revolves around the idea that we are “but a small speck on a pale blue dot” in a great big universe.

The series includes photos of my husband and daughter; my inspiration and favorite models and will be on display November 14th - December 8th, 2021 at Porto Vecchio, Trieste, Italy.

The festival and exhibits will be streamed on-line, you can follow along on their social media pages:
