Ellen Goodman lives in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri USA with her husband and daughter. In the late 1970’s, her Dad built a darkroom in the basement of their home. Early exposure to the darkroom led to an appreciation and fascination of live chemical reactions, the energy and connection of things and making things with your hands. She’s been hooked on the craft of film photography ever since.

She is a Director of The Film Shooters Collective (FSC). The FSC is an international collective of film photographers that provide community, opportunity and support to members through publications, events and exhibitions.  In August of 2016, Ellen spearheaded the Film Shooters Collective's first group exhibition "NSEW: Divided by Land, United by Film" which was on display at the Kranzberg Arts Center in St. Louis, MO August 5th-27th. She also organized and curated “Earth, Aliens, Hope and the Unknown”, an FSC exhibition on display at Revela’t June 7th-16th, 2019 in Vilassar de Dalt, Barcelona, Spain.
